Larkspur
Our favorite band from
Hood River!
Easy to listen to, and fun to shop by, these fantastic musicians keep us going.
They have a wonderful, soft rock sound, and they play all our favorite oldies!

Stunning Shrubs for Fall & Winter

Briggs Nursery

I grew up in Colorado Springs, CO. I mowed my first yard at 10 and did landscaping & maintenance with an old Jeep & trailer until I graduated from high school. After high school, I attended Colorado School of Mines (Engineering) for a year, but decided they wanted me to be an engineer more than I did...My brother was in OR working on his Masters and invited me out to have a look at OSU...GO BEAVS!!! I was on my way to growing webfeet. I spent a year receiving residency in Oregon, and proceeded become one of the first Oregon Certified Nurseryman while working for Don & Sandra Powell at Garland Nursery, between Corvallis & Albany. While attending Oregon State University I continued to work at Garland's, do work-study on campus, and be a partner in Workhorse Landscape Maintenance. I graduated with a Bachelor Of Science Degree in Agriculture, Landscape & Turfgrass Management, in 1982. I was a golf course mow-jockey for a short time, a ChemLawn spray-jockey for a bit longer, and ended up at Oswego Lake CC doing an internship of sorts, learning about becoming a Golf Course Superintendent. Three years later I had my first real job as a Golf Course Superintendent at Tumwater Valley Golf Course in Tumwater, WA., and spent 13 years at it...I then did a short stint at a retail garden center in Olympia, then 3 years as an estate gardener in Burien, WA, and now at Briggs for just over 9 years.
